Carioca Zombie

These great voodoo graphics come from a bar top advertising tent from the 1940s. Donn Beach, of the “Don the Beachcomber” tiki bar chain, created a drink called a Zombie in 1934. This amazing drink put his bar on the map and took the world by storm, even being served at the 1939 World’s Fair. Not long after its creation, there were many different companies that tried to duplicate it to profit on this new zombie fad. Carioca Rum came up with this pre-mixed zombie concoction made with their rum. Zombies were known to be strong drinks - the back of this advertising card read “The management reserves the right to serve no more than two Carioca Zombies to a Customer”!
